Jean Patou

Designer · France · est. 1919

Jean Patou is a French couture and perfume house founded in 1919 by designer Jean Patou, historically celebrated for Joy (1930), once marketed as "the costliest perfume in the world." The perfume business has changed hands several times — owned by Procter & Gamble from 2001 to 2011 and by UK-based Designer Parfums since 2011 — while the separate Patou fashion house was relaunched by LVMH in 2018.
