Karl Lagerfeld

Designer · France · est. 1978

Named for the German-born designer who led Chloé, Chanel and Fendi, the Karl Lagerfeld fragrance line launched in 1978 with Lagerfeld Classic and has passed through licenses held by Elizabeth Arden, Unilever, Coty and, since 2012, Inter Parfums. Early releases favored bold 1980s-90s orientals (KL, KL Homme, Sun Moon Stars) with the designer himself sketching the bottles, while the 2014 relaunch under Inter Parfums introduced a cleaner, modern signature duo (Karl Lagerfeld for Him/for Her) and the minimalist Les Parfums Matières wood series.
