Liquides Imaginaires

Liquides Imaginaires is a French niche house founded by art director and designer Philippe Di Méo, who conceived the project at Paris Design Week in October 2011 and developed it with co-founder David Frossard. Di Méo treats perfume as literature and ritual, building the catalogue as a series of thematic trilogies — Les Eaux-Delà (Sancti, Fortis, Tumultu), Les Eaux Sanguines (Dom Rosa, Bloody Wood, Bello Rabelo), Les Humeurs, Les Eaux de l'Est, Les Eaux des Bermudes and Les Eaux de l'Âme — each housed in the brand's signature stepped, apothecary-like bottle. Compositions are commissioned from established perfumers including Sonia Constant, Louise Turner, Amélie Bourgeois, Anne-Sophie Behaghel, Quentin Bisch, Nisrine Bouazzaoui Grillié, Shyamala Maisondieu, Nadège Le Garlantezec and Fabrice Pellegrin. The house is known for narrative concepts — holy water, sacrificial wine, sea monsters, a unicorn — rendered as unusually dry, resinous and textural perfumes.
