Rochas

Designer · France · est. 1925

Founded by couturier Marcel Rochas in Paris in 1925, the house entered perfumery in the 1930s and became legendary in 1943 when Edmond Roudnitska created Femme, a plum-and-oakmoss chypre made for Rochas's wife Hélène that helped define postwar French perfumery. After Marcel's death, Hélène Rochas steered the fragrance business to international success, and the house went on to launch enduring classics like Madame Rochas, Eau de Rochas and Tocade.
