Van Cleef & Arpels

Designer · France · est. 1896

Founded in 1896 by Alfred Van Cleef and Estelle Arpels and established at 22 Place Vendôme in Paris in 1906, Van Cleef & Arpels is a storied French high jewellery maison known for its poetic, nature-inspired designs. Its 1976 debut fragrance, First, composed by Jean-Claude Ellena, was among the earliest perfumes launched by a jeweller and remains a landmark floral aldehyde. Since 2009 the acclaimed Collection Extraordinaire has paired the house's gem-setting philosophy with niche-quality, single-material-focused compositions from top perfumers, elevating Van Cleef & Arpels into a serious fragrance house alongside its jewellery heritage.
