Escentric Molecules

Niche · Germany · est. 2006

Escentric Molecules was founded in London in 2006 by German master perfumer Geza Schoen, who left a corporate role at fragrance manufacturer Haarmann & Reimer to pursue a radically minimalist idea: fragrances built around a single aroma-molecule, worn as-is or layered with a companion 'Escentric' scent. The debut, Molecule 01, centered entirely on Iso E Super and became a cult phenomenon, spawning four further Molecule/Escentric pairs (02 Ambroxan, 03 Vetiveryl acetate, 04 Javanol, 05 Cashmeran). Often called the 'anti-fragrance fragrance brand,' the house is known for its stripped-back, transparent, skin-like unisex compositions and clinical, laboratory-inspired packaging.
