Matière Première

Matière Première was founded in 2019 in Paris by perfumer Aurélien Guichard alongside Cédric Meifret and Caius von Knorring. Guichard is the son of a seventh-generation Grasse perfumer family and is the only master perfumer who cultivates his own raw materials, growing centifolia roses and tuberoses on his family's farm in Grasse. The house's philosophy centers on showcasing a single premium natural raw material per fragrance in generous, uncompromising concentrations, built with minimalist, modern structures rather than complex accords.
